Our friend Aurbrey's only claim to fame is his flamboyant mother, Myrtle.
Myrtle was living in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Until very recently, Myrtle thought nothing of driving across country, alone, on a whim. Myrtle's polite, but she doesn't mince words.
Not too long ago, Myrtle grabbed her best girlfriend, Cara Jean, and dropped in on the bar at the local country club. When the bartender asked Myrtle what she'd have, Myrtle replied, "We'll have a milk punch."
The young man behind the counter frowned. "Milk punch?"
"Nothing better for a Sunday afternoon," Myrtle replied. "Make it two."
The young bartender scratched his head. "I'm not sure we have milk punch."
Myrtle stood up off her stool, put her hands on her hips, and assumed her full height of five feet, two inches. "Young man," she said, "do you mean to tell me they let people behind this bar who don't know how to make a simple milk punch?"
The bartender's face turned as red as his hair.
"Then they will certainly admit someone who does know how to make it," Myrtle said. And with that, she waddled around behind the bar and took matters into her own hands.
It's a pity Myrtle didn't come to BRAVO! instead of the country club that afternoon. BRAVO! bartenders know exactly what goes into a good milk punch. And a great Bloody Mary. And the perfect Grand Mimosa.
Our brunch menu features more than a dozen tasty libations perfect for those lazy Sunday afternoons … and our regular beverage menu lists dozens of tempting drinks you can enjoy anytime.
Milk punch, by the way, is always available. This Sunday, why not try some? Tell the bartender Myrtle sent you.
