The Ice Cream

Sal & Mookie’s will be the only restaurant in central Mississippi with an integrated ice cream scoop shop as a part of the concept. The Sal & Mookie’s ice cream counter will offer a changing display of 18 types of gourmet small batch, hand made ice cream; a myriad of house made desserts (baked by our staff at Broad Street); and a complete espresso, cappuccino and coffee selection. Shakes, sundaes and splits will round out the ice cream offerings.

An added feature of the ice cream shop is that it will serve as the one-stop take out counter for all call-in orders for the restaurant. In the thirteen years we have been running restaurants in Jackson, we have seen the demand for take-out grow and grow and grow. We live in a complex world, where parents both work, and time is at a premium. Families eat out a lot, and take out is a big part of the weekly program in many homes.

Sal & Mookie’s will have one of the most expansive menu offerings for pizzas (America’s #1 take out food!) but we will not stop there! Hamburgers, grilled panini sandwiches, hot subs, pastas, and gourmet salads… all will be available for call in and pick up.

Yet another twist on take-out dining will be the offering of “quick serve” pizza by the slice via the take out counter. If an area resident just wants to grab a quick bite, he or she will be able to pop into the scoop shop and order a quick “slice to-go”.
